RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks)

A hard disk arrangement comprising of multiple disks acting or working as one; RAID can be implemented in many ways but the main two are striped RAID, splitting data across multiple disks that appear as one or mirrored RAID, data written to one disk is simultaneously written to another

RAM (Random Access Memory)

A volatile form of memory, the contents of which is lost as soon as power is lost to the system

ROM (Read Only Memory)

A non-writeable form of memory most commonly used to store a computers BIOS

Router

A network hardware device that determines the proper path of travel for data between networks and forwards accordingly; they can be setup to learn these routes automatically or have them manually set in the configuration by the network administrator
