LAN (Local Area Network)

A computer network covering a small geographic area such as a home or office

Laptop

A small, portable computer capable of the same tasks as a desktop computer, which can be battery operated as well as run from the mains

Laser printer

Type of printer able to produce high quality text and graphics rapidly

Leased line

A telecommunications line permanently connecting two sites. Leased lines are being phased out and replaced with DSL lines
